Introduction
This study primarily investigates the combustion performance and optimization of a micro combustor with perforated stainless steel/platinum catalyst. Since combustion results in energy losses that cannot be experimentally determined, numerical simulations are employed to explore the reasons for internal energy losses in the microreactor. Simcenter STAR-CCM+ CFD software is employed for numerical simulations of combustion in this study. By adjusting four parameters: the methane/air flow rate, hydrogen/air flow rate, methane/air equivalence ratio, and hydrogen/air equivalence ratio, the design of the perforations is analyzed through the examination of the thermal field and the distribution of reactants/products. This analysis aims to optimize the combustion performance.
